CDO as a Service
Your Chief Data Officer
as a Service.
You get a consistent point of contact for your data initiatives. I work with you and your team over time, take on agreed leadership responsibilities and help with implementation.
Where I
can help.
I also work with you and your team on how decisions about data are made and how business domains work together. We agree on the leadership and implementation responsibilities I take on to support that change.
01Data strategy and priorities
Which initiatives are worth pursuing?
Which initiatives are worth pursuing?
I bring business questions and ongoing data initiatives into a shared set of priorities. We clarify value, dependencies and ownership so you can decide on budgets and sequence.
02Data architecture and implementation
How do we make it useful?
How do we make it useful?
I design data connections and platform foundations and help implement selected pipelines, automations and analytics or ML applications. Existing infrastructure and future operation are part of the work.
03Data management and governance
Who takes responsibility?
Who takes responsibility?
We agree who decides definitions, can use the data and handles errors. We put these agreements into practice through access rules, checks and everyday workflows.
04Building your data team
Who do you need next?
Who do you need next?
We derive the role from the work ahead. I support technical interviews and selection, then help the new team member get started on a concrete task.
How we turn the offer
into a working relationship.
- The first assignment
- We choose a business question or workflow to start with and agree how you will recognize an improvement.
- Responsibility and decisions
- You appoint an executive sponsor. We agree which decisions I can make and which need approval from others.
- Time and fees
- We agree on reserved monthly capacity, fees and on-site or remote working arrangements. Additional implementation work is planned explicitly.
- Your team’s involvement
- People need time to clarify business requirements, arrange access and build together. We discuss what contribution is realistic.
- Your team taking over
- Knowledge and responsibility should remain in your company. We plan onboarding and handover as part of the work.
Is this right
for your situation?
This works when you need ongoing decisions about data but are not ready to establish your own CDO position. You may already have several initiatives running, or you may still need your first data hires.
A project may be enough for a clearly defined development assignment. If you need daily leadership at full capacity, we should discuss a role with that level of commitment.
What else you
may want to know.
Do we need an existing data team?
No. I can help build initial data connections and applications. I need business contacts and access to the agreed systems. If you need more implementation than my capacity allows, we plan additional support.
How do you work with our IT team?
We agree who decides on data questions, architecture and operation. I work with your IT leadership and those responsible for security and privacy.
How available will you be?
We agree on availability, response times and urgent matters at the outset. Continuous on-call support or round-the-clock platform operation is not automatically included.
What happens when we hire our own CDO?
I can support selection and onboarding, then hand over decisions, ongoing work and knowledge. We discuss the engagement period and handover from the start.
Let’s
talk.
Tell me what you want to do with your data and where you need support. We can work out whether I’m the right person to help.
